Application Process

How to Apply to Hurley School of Radiologic Technology

  • Applications are accepted from February 1 to April 1, or the stated deadline each year.
  • Application packets can be obtained from the Program Director on site in the Radiology Department beginning Feb. 1
  • The application forms and all requested information must be completed and returned to the School before consideration will be given to any candidate. A waiting list is not maintained. All applicants must attend an informational meeting at our Radiography program.
  • After the candidate has applied, eligibility will be verified and the top 20 applicants will be granted a personal interview with the Admission Committee. Selection of students will be based on the grade point average of the prerequisite courses (50%) and a scored interview (50%). The Admission Committee will notify all candidates of their decision.
  • The selected candidate shall be required to pass health screening along with successful drug testing conducted by the Employee Health Office Staff of Hurley Medical Center in order to begin the Radiography program. The applicant will also be subject to a background check.

Special consideration is given to Hurley Medical Center employees.

Radiography Program Tuition and Fees

  • Tuition is currently $2500 per year, for a total of $5000 for the two-year Radiography program. Tuition is subject to change.
  • Textbook purchases are the responsibility of the student. Upon acceptance, the student will be given a list of required textbooks along with instructions for purchase. In addition, students are responsible for an on-line course, on-line review and any registry books they may select in preparation to write the National Registry Exam.

The tuition and textbook policies are subject to annual review by the Advisory Committee and may change.

Financial Aid

Some scholarship money is available. An application will be provided to applicants upon acceptance into the Radiography program. The program does not currently participate in federal financial aid programs.


Up to eight students per year; criteria for acceptance is based on a combined score for both academics and interview.

Candidate Qualifications

Individuals eighteen years of age and older are eligible for enrollment. An interview is required during which the candidates are evaluated by a panel of professionals. Evaluation includes:

  • GPA of 2.5 in Pre-Requisite courses
  • Patient Care experience/customer service
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Personal impression

  • Documentation of Patient Care Experience
  • Curriculum Vitae (Resume)
  • Two Reference forms mailed directly to the School of Radiology; by the individual writing the reference
  • Students must keep in mind they will have needed to complete the mandatory minimum of a 3 hour job experience on site in the Radiology Department at Hurley Medical Center and have attended a mandatory Informational Meeting on site.

Refund Policy

Any student who withdraws from the school prior to the first official day of class will receive tuition and registration fees that have been paid prior to that date, minus a 5% service fee. If a student withdraws or is terminated within the first 90 days of the program, the student will receive a 50% refund. Withdrawal or termination after 90 days will result in forfeiture of all fees and expenses.
