Internal Medicine, First-Year Resident
- Medical School: Shanghai Jiaotong University, China
- Internship prior to US residency: University of Strasbourg, France
What brought you to Michigan?
I came to the US in 2015 for clinical rotations. Michigan is the first state I did a rotation, and I fell in love with the nature and nice people around here. I did an emergency medicine rotation in the University of Michigan and several other medical rotations in the Cleveland Clinic and Mayo Clinic. The reason I decided to come to US to start residency is its highly standardized medical training and its diversified culture and practicing environment.
Why did you choose your specialty?
I love the mode of practicing medicine. It’s the art of the combination of medical knowledge, humanity and social science. I love communicating with my patients, treating and comforting them and enjoy sharing their stories. I also have a career goal to pursue my interested medical subspecialty.
I have family members living in New Jersey and New York. I visit them during vacation and share with them my residency life.
What do you do for fun?
Listen to music, read, hang out with friends, travel, nature, and photography.
What do you like most about Hurley and/or the mid-Michigan area?
The people of Hurley, who are so nice and supportive, always ready to help.
The excellent peers and faculty in the program. The academic challenges to overcome in clinical setting.
