Internal Medicine, Third-Year Resident
Sulaymaniyah University School of Medicine, Sulaymaniyah, Iraq
What brought you to Michigan?
I came to the United States in 2011 after I got married. I lived with my family in North Dakota until June 2011, when I moved to Flint to start my residency.
Why did you choose your specialty?
Since my dad died of a heart attack and my sister suffered from Graves’ disease, I’ve always wanted to practice medicine and become an internist.
Family fun facts:
I live with my little angel Tia, and her dad, Sabah, in Grand Blanc.
What do you do for fun?
What do love about Hurley and/or the area?
The taste of Middle East is everywhere.
What do you miss most about home and how do you keep in touch with family and friends there?
I miss my mom’s dishes, family gatherings, spending time with my niece and nephew. I keep in touch by calling them and through video calls on Skype.
What are your hobbies?
I sew. It’s a talent that runs in our family and my sister is famous for her designing and sewing in our city. Now I can’t sew, as my training is very demanding.
