Pediatrics, Fourth-Year Resident and Chief
What brought you here to Michigan?
I came here four years ago with my husband, Samer Al Hadidi, who recently completed his residency at Hurley and is now a faculty member in Internal Medicine here. We loved it here in the Hurley family, so we stayed.
Why did you choose your specialty?
Being around children and helping them gives me a great feeling of satisfaction. Pediatrics is the specialty where you have the chance to influence a person’s life forever. I love kids a lot.
Family fun facts:
- My husband is Samer and my two daughters are Rose, 3 1/2 years, and Hanan, 6 months.
- We all love chocolate ice cream.
What do you do for fun?
Over the summer, Michigan is a great place with a lot of parks and farms. I go fruit-picking (apples, strawberries, raspberries) with my family. Or we visit one of the numerous parks in the area and kayak. We also go to the beach, which is so much fun.
What do love about Hurley and/or the area?
What I love about Hurley is that everybody treats you like family. From the first moment you start work, you feel welcomed, cared for and loved.
What inspires you?
The presence of highly-educated, very competitive people around me who push me beyond my limits to be the person that I want to be.
What do you miss most about home and how do you keep in touch with family and friends there?
I miss my mom and dad the most. I try to keep in touch with them via phone, Facebook and Skype.
