Resident Training & Resources

The most effective graduate medical education occurs in an environment in which the needs of patients, residents and their families are met. Hurley Medical Center and the leadership of our residency training programs are committed to providing our residents with access to services, organizations and other opportunities that, in turn, enhance the care we provide patients.

We also recognize that the best interests of patients and the successful educational training of residents is dependent upon the establishment of appropriate work hours for residents. In agreement with the House Staff Association, Hurley Medical Center makes every reasonable effort to arrange schedules and duties consistent with optimum patient care, high standards of training, specialty board requirements and limitations, and the health and well being of residents (including social needs and the importance of adequate rest).
