Program:
Trauma Research Fellowship Graduating Class of 2023
Where are you from originally?
Brooklyn-born, Cairo-bred.
Medical training:
I completed medical school at the Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University, one of the top medical schools in Egypt and Africa.
What brought you to Michigan?
I arrived in Michigan not too long ago to start my research fellowship. I keep hearing testimony about the natural beauty of Northern Michigan, which I hope I can visit throughout the year.
Why did you choose your specialty?
I've always enjoyed learning about and working in the emergency, trauma, and critical care spectrum. ALL people in ALL countries deserve equitable access to safe, high-quality emergency care. This is something that drives me.
When you're not working, what do you do for fun?
I binge a lot of shows on Netflix. I enjoy anything sci-fi (books, movies, video games, you name it.) At some point in life, I'd like to get a wood-fired pizza oven and make a lot of pizza.
