4 Hurley residents receive honors from MSU students

Four Hurley resident physicians were selected for honors by medical students on the Flint Campus of Michigan State University College of Human Medicine on Feb. 23, 2024.

In recognition of the Arnold J. Gold Foundation's Thank-a-Resident Day in February, the following resident physicians from Hurley were selected by the students as most deserving of thanks for their teaching/mentoring:

Internal Medicine rotations

  • Ekwevugbe (Ochuko) Ogbon, PGY3, Internal Medicine
  • Rohit Gupta, PGY4, Combined Internal Medicine/Pediatrics

Obstetrics & Gynecology rotations

  • Emily Pauls, PGY1
  • Panagiotis Cherouveim, PGY1

The selection was part of the activities for the 2023-2024 MSU CHM Gold Humanism Honor Society, according to Jennifer Shields, the 2023-2024 secretary for the Gold Honor Society.

The selected residents are to receive gift cards and virtual thank-you notes, "acknowledging the excellent educational support and/or mentorship opportunities" they provided to students, said Shields.
