- Mathias Award. For the resident who has the most improved in-training exam and who demonstrates characteristics exemplified by Hurley’s first pediatric resident (Berton Mathias MD) in his pediatric career, such as advocacy for children and families, excellent teamwork, good listening skills, humility, and excellent primary care skills. Selected by faculty.
Tim Tomy MD
- Tauscher Excellence in Teaching Award. Named after John Tauscher MD, who was a Pediatrics resident at Hurley 1958-1960 and then practiced medicine and served as faculty and in administrative functions Pediatrics in the community until he retired in 1991.
