Five physicians received diplomas June 6, 2025, for graduating from the one-year Hurley Medical Center Transitional Year Residency Program. Program Director Adiraj Singh MD announced the graduates during the ceremony in the Abbott Education Center at Hurley. They include:

• Davit Melik MD

  • Next step: Radiology Residency, Mountain View Hospital, Las Vegas, Nev.

• Khalil Qadri MD

  • Next step: Psychiatry Residency, University of Chicago, Chicago, Ill.

• Ananya Vungarala MD

  • Next step: Obstetrics & Gynecology Residency, Hurley Medical Center, Flint, Mich.

• Kelly Yang MD

  • Next step: Anesthesiology Residency, Montefiore Einstein, Bronx, N.Y.

In addition, TY residents selected one person from their graduating class to receive the award as Best Outgoing Resident. The winner: Ananya Vungarala MD
