Two Hurley resident physicians' hard work paid off when they discovered that their research project was accepted at a national scientific conference.

CHEST, a scientific conference of the American College of Chest Physicians (CHEST), issued the invitation for the poster presentation to Prajwal Shanker MD and Ibukunoluwa Fakunle MD for their project, Nonischemic cardiomyopathy presenting with abdominal pain: An incidental left ventricular thrombus.

Shanker and Fakunle are in the Combined Internal Medicine/Pediatrics Residency Training Program at Hurley Medical Center.

The conference, CHEST 2022, took place in Nashville, Tenn., Oct. 16-19, 2022.

CHEST describes itself as "the global leader in advancing best patient outcomes through innovating chest medicine education, clinical research, and team-based care."
