Infectious disease/internal medicine physician job opening at Hurley

The Hurley Internal Medicine Residency Program is looking for an enthusiastic, motivated person to join the core faculty and existing team of infectious disease faculty physicians in a combined IM/ID position. Teaching resident physicians and medical students helps to keep you on your toes and allows you to help grow the next generation of physicians. Opportunities for research and quality-improvement proejcts abound.

The candidate must be board-certified in Internal Medicine, board-eligible or certified in Adult Infectious Disease, willing to teach residents and medical students, and willing to participate as a core faculty member in the Internal Medicine residency training program. Participation in scholarly and quality improvement activities with residents is expected, as is involvement with the Infection Control department. Clinical responsibilities will include rounding on the inpatient IM staff service (up to 12 weeks) and ID consultative service (8 weeks on main service, 8 weeks of “backup”) as well as seeing patients in the hospital-based outpatient ID clinic. Interest in the care of HIV and Hepatitis C patients is preferred.

A faculty appointment will be available through the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine at a rank commensurate with experience. H1-B visas are acceptable.

A competitive compensation and benefits plan is offered, including a continuing medical education allowance, 4 weeks of vacation and up to 10 days of CME.

Loan forgiveness may be possible for those with eligible student debt under the federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program.
