
One Hurley resident physician's case report about an overlapping disease syndrome earned her a poster presentation at a prestigious international conference.
Ibukunoluwa "Hazel" Fakunle MD, a third-year resident in Hurley's Combined Internal Medicine/Pediatrics Residency Program, is scheduled to present her poster and answer questions May 17, 2022, at the American Thoracic Society's international conference, which takes place May 13-18 in San Francisco.
Her poster, Allergic Bronchopulmonary Aspergillosis and Bronchiectasis in a Patient with Asthma-Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease Overlap Syndrome, is to appear in the thematic poster session, Breaking the Mold, on May 17.
Coauthors are Sherry Demian, MD, a third-year Hurley Internal Medicine resident, and Mohammed Berrou, MD, an Internal Medicine faculy physician in pulmonary and critical care medicine.
