What brought you to the U.S. and Michigan?
I chose to come to the U.S. to gain experience and further my medical knowledge through residency training. Michigan was my first choice as my husband is already here.
Why did you choose your specialty?
I chose Med-Peds because it allows me to take care of wide variety of patients, from infants to elderly. The beauty of Med-Peds lies in its versatility.
Family
My husband lives with me here in Michigan; my parents and my sister are back home in Nepal.
When you’re not working, what do you do for fun?
When I’m not working, I try to take time for myself to simply relax for maintaining balance between the rush and demands of residency. I enjoy cooking, traveling with friends and trying out new foods.
What do you like about Hurley and the mid-Michigan area?
The people, the food and the summers.
What do you miss most about home?
I miss being close to my family, where I was at driving distance from them. Here at Hurley, I found a diverse group of people who are my family away from home, which makes me miss home a little bit less.
