Trinidad and Tobago
Medical training:
I went to Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland for my medical school and master's degree. I also completed an intern year rotating through Dublin and Kilkenny in Irleand.
What brought you to the U.S.?
I came to the US for residency, and I am very excited to be living and working in Michigan. I am excited to explore more of the state and experience all of the wonderful things it has to offer. Matching to Hurley was a dream come true. I am over the moon to be working with the incredible faculty here and for this community.
Why did you choose your specialty?
OBGYN is incredibly multifaceted. The patient population and the mix of medicine and surgery are what piqued my interest in this speciality. It also offers opportunities to connect with patients throughout their lives and to provide unique continuity of care.
Family?
My parents and grandma are back home in Trinidad. My sister is currently studying medicine in Dublin, Ireland. I am very excited for them to visit me and experience Michigan.
When you're not working, what do you do for fun?
I enjoy catching up with friends and family in my spare time. I hope to continue fostering my current relationships while building new ones here in Flint.
What do you like most about Hurley?
The people! Everyone has been very welcoming.
Special talents & hobbies?
I love cooking Caribbean food. When I'm home sick, its the perfect pick-me-up.
