Obstetrics & Gynecology Graduating Class of 2027

Where are you from originally?

I grew up in West Bloomfield, Michigan.

Medical training:

  • Medical School: Wayne State University, Detroit, Mich.

Why did you stay in Michigan?

For me, Michigan is home and where I hope to practice medicine in the future, which is why I really wanted to stay for residency training. I knew not only that I wanted to continue training in Michigan, but that I wanted to work in a community of supportive people that are working to care for underserved patients as individuals; and I felt that when I met the staff, residents, and faculty at Hurley.

Why did you choose your specialty?

I chose obstetrics and gynecology for a few reasons: it aligns with my academic interests involving women’s studies; it’s a perfect combination of surgery and longitudinal clinical care; and I love that I get to work with and support patients in complex and emotional situations.

Family?

My parents are amazing. They live nearby and support me in so many ways. My younger sister, Sydney, is both my best friend and the funniest person I know!

When you're not working, what do you do for fun?

Yoga, hiking, spending time with family and friends, crafting, and reading a good book!

What surprised you most about working at Hurley?

It’s a welcomed surprise, but I think everyone’s kindness and positive attitudes really stand out at Hurley. The way that providers and administrative staff have stayed with the hospital for years isn’t really that surprising given how supportive the atmosphere is!

Fun fact about you?

A fun fact about me is that I volunteered as a radio DJ in college and I still love to use music to decompress at the end of the day. I love finding and sharing new music and getting recommendations from friends.
