What brought you to Michigan?
I always wanted to live in the Midwest. I have a lot of family in Illinois, and I loved seeing the snow when I came to visit them in winter. That magic is still there (for now).
Why did you choose your specialty?
I'm a generalist at heart. I have many hobbies, my music tastes are all over the place, and I know a little bit about almost every topic out there. This carried over to medicine too; I'm interested in all facets of medicine, not just one, and IM gave me the opportunity to study them all
When you're not working, what do you do for fun?
Video games, or going out to a park. Also, TV shows!
What do you like most about Hurley and Mid-Michigan so far?
The people are so friendly! They always stop to talk.
Inspiration
Richard Feynman and his wonderful ability to distill simplicity from complexity. I want to replicate that in my practice of medicine. Although I feel like I often to the opposite.
Favorites
One Piece is my favorite book series, period. I've grown up with the story and have been reading it since I was 12. It's a must read for any fantasy fan out there. An odd, strange but heartfelt and whimsical story about pirates and freedom.
Favorite ways to keep work-life balance
I read a ton. Comic books to novels, I enjoy escaping to a new world through books. I'm currently reading through the Wheel of Time series!
