What brought you to the U.S.?
I have always been passionate about expanding my knowledge and aspiring to become a pediatric physician, a dream I've long held.
Why did you choose your specialty?
I learnt that I wanted to become a pediatrician when I was an undergraduate and I would join medical convoys that served the underprivileged areas. I found in pediatrics a different world, a world full of challenges, and hope. The challenge to articulate a patient’s cry, and a favorable prognosis in most of the diseases, which defines hope.
Family
I am originally from Egypt, and my parents, whom I miss the most, live there in Cairo. My husband resides in Philly, Penn. I also have 2 brothers, one who lives in Canada and another in New York.
When you're not working, what do you do for fun?
I love practicing yoga and going for a walk and capturing sunsets.
What do you like most about Hurley?
The multicultural environment, and the support I can get from the people I am surrounded by.
What inspires you?
Putting an acquired knowledge into practice and seeing patients benefit from it.
What do you miss most about home?
Family, friends and food. I try to keep in touch through video calls, and sharing my life with the people I love.
