Program:

Obstetrics & Gynecology Graduating Class of 2027

Where are you from originally?

Paros, Greece

Medical training:

  • Medical School: University of Ioannina, Greece

What brought you to the U.S.?

I came in the U.S. in the summer of 2021 and did 2 years of research in Boston before residency. I feel like the U.S. medical training system provides the best opportunity for high-acuity, well rounded, and high-intensity training.

Why did you choose your specialty?

ObGyn is a unique combination of surgery and medicine. Through this field you get an opportunity to have a wide spectrum of practice, from primary care to specialist services. There is an opportunity to do something different every day and always learn something new.

Ready for winter
Snow in Boston. I am ready for Michigan!

When you're not working, what do you do for fun?

Hanging out with friends, cooking, playing basketball or the guitar, and always exploring something new.

What surprised you most about working at Hurley?

I love the complexity of the patient population. You have an opportunity to manage patients with very complex medical and social issues. It is inspiring to see how confident my higher level co-residents are managing all these complex cases. Having this will give us the confidence to handle almost everything after graduation.

Favorite quotation:

Never stop being a good person because of bad people.

There is no point in treating people badly. Try to be nice even if other people aren't. Good deeds might eventually come back to you, you never know.

What are your favorite ways to keep your work-life balance manageable?

Talking to my friends and family over the phone. My amazing co-residents also make a huge difference, and I am always down for doing anything with them!
