Program:

Obstetrics & Gynecology Graduating Class of 2024

Where are you from originally?

New Jersey! More specifically Millstone Township, N.J.

Medical training:

I completed my medical school training at the University of Medicine and Health Sciences in Saint Kitts (an island in the West Indies).

When did you come to Michigan?

I had never been to Michigan before my interview, but many of my classmates who were from the state encouraged me to apply to Hurley. I am still getting to know Michigan, but I am excited to explore and see more.

Why did you choose your specialty?

I chose the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology for many reasons, but my interest was sparked when I found out that I was an IVF baby. Also, after medical school, I gained a better appreciation for what my role could be as an ally for women's health care in underserved communities.

Family?

My whole family live in New Jersey except my husband Rick who lives in Clarkston with me. We have two kittens named Leona and Kingston.

When you're not working, what do you do for fun?

One of my favorite things to do for fun is high ropes courses. It has become a bit of a tradition since starting my clerkships in medical school to find a course in every state that I have lived in.

What do miss most about home?

The thing I miss most about home is NJ/NY pizza! Food is something that always brings the whole family together. It is hard to keep in touch, but FaceTime definitely makes it a bit easier.

Favorite ways to keep work-life balance manageable?

My favorite way to relax after work is to watch 90 Day Fiancé and Love at First Sight with my husband as we cook dinner.
