Academic infectious disease faculty physician job
As an affiliate of the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, Hurley Medical Center - a 457-bed public teaching hospital in Flint, Mich. - is seeking an energetic and dynamic individual to join our existing team of three hospital-employed Infectious Disease faculty physicians.
The candidate must be board-eligible or board-certified in Adult Infectious Diseases and enjoy working with medical students and residents in an academic environment. ID faculty serve as core members in the Internal Medicine residency training program at HMC and, as such, participate in required program meetings and activities. Leadership in research and quality-improvement activities is expected. Faculty attend on the inpatient ID consultative service, as well as see patients in the hospital-based outpatient ID clinic. Interest in the care of HIV- and Hepatitis C-infected patients is preferred. Numerous opportunities to participate in antimicrobial stewardship and infection-control activities are available.Candidates must have strong interpersonal, teamwork, leadership, communication, and technology skills as well as a willingness to work with a diverse, urban population.
Competetive compensation, benefits
A competitive compensation and benefits plan is offered, including a signing bonus, relocation expenses, and a continuing medical education allowance. Faculty also receive 4 weeks of vacation and up to 10 days of CME.
Loan forgiveness eligibility
Loan forgiveness may be possible for those with eligible student debt under the federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program.
Michigan State University faculty appointment
A faculty appointment will be available through the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine at a rank commensurate with experience.
