Here's what you may want to know as you're considering Hurley. (A copy of a specific standard practice is available upon request to the program coordinator.)
- Eligibililty and selection criteria for medical graduates appointed to residency-training programs (SP D07)
- Background check (Hurley SP 0110) - Hurley will arrange and pay for this
- Pre-employment and employment requirements
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) fit-testing
- Color-blind-testing (Hurley SP 2019)
- Drug-screening (Hurley SP 2879)
- TB-screening (Hurley SP 0065)
- Immunizations (or proof of immunity) (Hurley SP 0074)
- Tetanus, Diptheria, Pertussis (T-dap)
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR)
- Hepatitis B (HBV) or waiver
- Varicella Zoster Vaccine (VZV)
- Influenza (SP 0075) during flu season (Oct. 1 - March 31) or medical exemption/religious accommodation
- In special circumstances, other vaccines may be required, per the U.S. Centers for Disease Control or Hurley Infection Control.
- COVID-19 is not required, but documentation of any doses received must be submitted to Human Resources.
- Certifications (from programs authorized by the American Heart Association or American Academy of Pediatrics)
- BLS - Basic Life Support (a prerequisite to all of the others) (SP 0327)
Required by all programs - ACLS - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support
Required by all programs except Pediatrics - NRP* - Neonatal Resuscitation Program (SP 2225)
Required by Pediatrics, Combined Internal Medicine/Pediatrics, and Obstetrics and Gynecology
*NALS - Neonatal Advance Life Support - if offered by an AAP-authorized trainer - may be substituted for NRP - PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support
